Student Committee
The SeNSS/SENSS Student Committee serves as an independent body to represent student concerns and interests in conversation with the Core Team. We provide peer support for any questions you may have relating to your funding or PhD journey. We also organise community events, a quarterly newsletter, and an annual writing retreat to build community and support student development.
You can find us on Instagram, Facebook, or at senss.student.committee@gmail.com. Get in touch if:
You have an issue that you are struggling to get resolved via normal channels, or that is relevant to the wider SeNSS/SENSS community
You have something you would like peer advice on, including OIVs, placements, and fieldwork.
You have an achievement you’d like to share – our Small Successes Newsletter celebrates every win (big and small!) so let us know about it. We’re also always keen to promote publications etc. on our socials
You have an idea for an event – we run a range of wellbeing, career, and inclusion sessions, so let us know if there is something you’d like to see
We also have a SeNSS/SENSS students WhatsApp group – drop us an email to be added.

Sentio Journal
Sentio Journal brings together an interdisciplinary curiosity in the service of research and knowledge generation. The journal was launched in 2018 by postgraduate researchers from the ESRC-funded South-East Network for the Social Sciences (SeNSS) Doctoral Training Partnership and is published annually in print and online. Sentio aims to provide a forum for the cross-pollination of ideas, conversation, and exchange through emancipatory social science scholarship, seeking to nuance and advance debates from an array of epistemological and methodological perspectives.
