SENSS Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)

The Virtual Learning Environment, or VLE, is a useful tool for you to access general and specific training to help you with your studentship. The VLE contains links to a range of training providers as well as information on how each provider’s offerings relate to your Development Needs Analysis (DNA). In addition, the VLE provides frequent updates on short-term training offerings, events, and other information useful to your studentship.

Go to SENSS VLE for further details regarding:

  • Training, including advanced training

  • Student Committee

  • Funding and policies

  • Work placements and internships

SeNSS/SENSS funded researchers:

SeNSS/SENSS funded researchers are automatically enrolled onto the VLE. For students that have never accessed the VLE or do not have an @essex.ac.uk account, at the start of the academic year, you will have received an email from our colleagues containing a temporary password and link to access the VLE. Once you have logged in and changed your password, the VLE will be visible on your dashboard when you log-in.

If you have used the previous SeNSS VLE or have an @essex.ac.uk account, you will be automatically enrolled onto the new VLE.

For non-funded researchers:

You will need to create an OpenEssex account to access the VLE. Once you have created an account, click on the 'Single Sign-On', then follow the on-screen instructions (this takes you to the external University of Essex MoodleX site).

Following your account creation, please contact the SENSS team via admin@senss-dtp.ac.uk, and we can then manually enrol you onto the VLE. Once enrolled, you can access the main SENSS page of the VLE here.

If you experience any problems accessing the VLE, please email the SENSS Administrator at admin@senss-dtp.ac.uk.
